Most people start shopping for a recliner with one question: how much should a decent one cost? The short answer is that recliner prices in Pakistan cover a wide range, and two chairs that look almost identical in photos can be priced tens of thousands of rupees apart. The difference is usually hidden in parts you cannot see: the frame, the mechanism, the foam and, for electric models, the motor.
Quick answer: a well-built manual recliner chair generally costs less than an electric one, and the price rises with the quality of the frame, the reclining mechanism, the foam density, the upholstery and the after-sales support. At the time of writing (October 2026), the sale price of our manual First Class Recliner Sofa is Rs. 75,000 and our Electric Recliner First Class Pro is Rs. 134,999. Prices change with promotions, so always check the product page.
What is a recliner chair?
A recliner chair is a single-seat armchair whose backrest tilts back while a footrest rises to support the legs. Some models also swivel or rock. A manual recliner is operated with a lever or by pushing back against the backrest; an electric recliner uses a motor and buttons. People often use "recliner chair" and "recliner sofa" for the same product in Pakistan, although a recliner sofa can also mean a two- or three-seat sofa with reclining seats.
What decides the price of a recliner chair?
1. The mechanism
The mechanism is the steel linkage that moves the backrest and footrest. It takes more wear than any other part. Cheaper mechanisms can feel loose after a year or two, make noise, or stop locking securely. Better mechanisms move smoothly, hold each position firmly and are usually tested for many thousands of cycles. This is the single most important reason one recliner costs more than another.
2. Manual or electric operation
An electric recliner adds a motor, a control unit, a hand control or side buttons and wiring. That adds cost, but it also lets the chair stop at any angle, and some models include rise assist, which tilts the seat forward to help the user stand. For a parent with knee or hip problems, that feature can matter more than anything else on the specification sheet.
3. Frame
Solid wood or hardwood frames last longer than particle board or low-grade plywood. You cannot see the frame in a showroom, so ask what it is made of. A heavier chair is often, though not always, a sign of a sturdier frame.
4. Foam and cushioning
High-density foam holds its shape for years. Low-density foam feels soft and inviting at first, then flattens within months and leaves you sitting on the frame. If the seat feels unusually soft in the showroom, ask about foam density.
5. Upholstery
Synthetic (PU) leather is common in Pakistan because it wipes clean and suits family use. Thicker, better-finished leathers and fabrics cost more. Stitching quality, especially around seams that stretch when you recline, is a good indicator of overall build.
6. Warranty and service
Part of what you pay for is the support behind the chair. A recliner sold with a local warranty and a team that can repair the mechanism in Pakistan is worth more than an identical-looking chair with no one to call when something fails.
What each budget level usually gets you
| Level | What you typically get | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Entry manual recliner | Lever or push-back recline, basic foam, a few fixed positions | Thin foam, lightweight frames, no local service |
| Quality manual recliner | Solid frame, smoother mechanism, often swivel and rock (3-in-1), better upholstery | Check the lock at each position and the seat height |
| Electric recliner | Motorised recline that stops at any angle, often rise assist | Needs a socket; ask what happens during a power cut |
Our own range sits at each of these levels: the manual First Class 3-in-1 recliner, the First Class Special Edition in black and beige (Rs. 86,600 at the time of writing), and the electric First Class Pro with rise assist. Current prices and colours are on the recliner sofa collection page.
Pakistan-specific things that affect value
Power supply. If your area has frequent load shedding, a manual recliner always works. An electric recliner may stay in its current position until power returns unless it has a backup or is connected to your UPS.
Heat and sunlight. PU leather left in direct sun through a window will dry and crack faster. Factor placement into your decision, not only price.
Delivery access. Recliners are bulky. Check doors, stairs and lifts before ordering. Free delivery saves money only if the chair actually fits through the door.
Who will use it. In many Pakistani homes the recliner becomes a parent's chair. If that is likely, seat height and ease of standing matter more than extra features.
How to judge whether a price is fair
- Sit in the chair for several minutes, not just a few seconds. The seat should support you evenly.
- Recline and close it ten times. It should feel the same on the tenth movement as on the first.
- Lean to one side and check that the chair does not rock or creak at the base.
- Ask what the frame and foam are made of, and who repairs the mechanism.
- Compare the total cost including delivery, not just the headline price.
- Read the warranty terms rather than relying on the phrase "warranty included".
Common mistakes buyers make
Choosing on photos alone. Colour and stitching look similar online; mechanisms and foam do not show up in photos.
Ignoring the reclined length. A recliner that fits upright may hit the wall or block a doorway when fully reclined. Allow space in front for the footrest and, for many designs, around 25 to 35 cm behind.
Buying electric when manual would do. If the users are healthy adults and power cuts are frequent, a good manual recliner is often the better value.
Buying manual for an elderly parent who struggles to stand. Rise assist can be worth the extra cost. See our guide to the recliner for elderly parents.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a recliner chair cost in Pakistan?
It depends on the mechanism, frame, foam, upholstery and whether it is manual or electric. At the time of writing, our recliners range from Rs. 75,000 for the manual First Class to Rs. 134,999 for the electric First Class Pro. Prices can change with promotions.
Why are electric recliners more expensive?
They include a motor, control electronics and wiring, and often rise assist. You are paying for effortless operation and precise positioning.
Is a cheap recliner worth buying?
Only if you have checked the mechanism and foam. A low price that comes with a weak mechanism often costs more over time.
Does the price include delivery?
We deliver free to almost every city in Pakistan. A small number of locations in Sindh carry a charge, listed on our shipping page.
Can I pay in instalments?
Credit card instalment plans through participating banks, Daraz and AlfaMall can spread the cost. Terms depend on your bank.
Which is better value: one electric recliner or two manual ones?
If two people want their own seat and both stand up easily, two manual recliners usually serve the family better. If one user needs help standing, prioritise one electric recliner with rise assist.
The right price is the one that buys you a mechanism that lasts, a seat that supports you and someone to call if something goes wrong. If you are still deciding between types, read our comparison of manual or electric recliners, or sit in both at our Lahore and Karachi showrooms.
